The Jennifers Steal the Show at Movies Rock 2007
Monday, 3 December 2007
Singer/actresses Jennifer Hudson (left) and Jennifer Lopez (right) dazzled at the Movies Rock 2007 event in L.A. last night.
J-Hud looked radiant in a gorgeous, black Michael Kors jumpsuit from his Autumn 2007 collection. She wore the strapless all-in-one suit with a patent waist belt, a long silver necklace and silver peep toes for a style totally different to the sea of dresses seen at the event!
J-Lo on the other hand complimented her beautiful new pregnant shape in a white, chiffon empire waist gown from the Versace Spring 2008 Resort collection. The dress was a very stylish one shoulder style and matched her pregnancy glow and beaded gold clutch perfectly.

Little black dresses were, as always, a huge trend! Eve (far left) chose a knee length, strappy satin version with a little waist belt and black tights. I love the dress and the cute peep toes but the hat shoulda been left at home and the tatts look cheap!
Fergie (second left) went for a daring Dolce and Gabanna dress with lace up sides and fitted bustier though I think a plain clutch and an up-do woulda made the overall look less busy.

The gorgeous Nicole Scherzinger (second right) looked lovely and polished in a black bandeau pencil dress with black peep toes and black nail polish. She looks nice but it'd be good to see her be more daring with her fashion choices, she wore a black pencil dress to the American Music Awards last month too.
Finally, looking adorable in a black mini dress from the Gucci Spring 2008 collection and black tights was actress Kate Hudson (far right). The shape of the strapless dress is very now with the nipped in waist and slightly flared skirt, as are the pointed black courts and the red clutch is perfect for a splash of colour. Overall its a very young fun look!
But the event wasn't all black and white! Oh no! Some stars chose to brighten up the "blue carpet" in some bold coloured gowns.
The lovely Beyonce (far left) was finally back to her brown hair again (woohoo! She listened lol) and was looking so much better. She stood out in a figure hugging, emerald coloured fish-tail gown by Zac Posen with gold accessories.
Also in a green and gold was Mary J Blige (far right) who showed up in a loose, strapless green chiffon gown by Alexander McQueen. I love her statement gold necklace but it would like better without the gold hoop earrings. But as for the bason cut hair - what can I say??! It's awful!
Emmy Rossum (second left) looked sugar sweet in a candy pink fitted, knee-length dress. Her usual brown curls, were loosened into lovely soft waves, and like most of the other celebs, she accessorised in gold.
Finally, we have Carrie Underwood (second right) who is moving up in the style stakes lately. She wore my favourite dress of the night, a stunning floor length red dress with a gold corseted waist and a plunging neckline. She got everything right from her delicate, gold drop earrings, her gold cuff bracelet and her champagne coloured clutch bag, to her soft natural looking up do. The night's style winner without a doubt!

From Rihanna's weird robo-chick wears a velvet bubble skirt creation, to Mary J Blige's multi coloured sequined dress, Nicole Scherzinger's rainbow coloured concoction and Carrie Underwood's doily dress - the American Music Awards 2007 was full of fashion disasters!

But which look do you think is the worst??

Friday, 7 September 2007
I've got a massive post for you all from the Fashion Rocks event yesterday. There were so many stars there, some getting it oh so right and some oh so wrong. Here are all the ones I could find from my least favourite, right down to me fav look of the night!
So we start with Teri Hatcher who looked a bit like a keyboard in her striped black and white gown and silver heels. The style of the dress is ok, in fact the top half is really nice but the fabric and stripes look ridiculous!

Also in a bit of a weird outfit was Tyra Banks who ruined a perfectly nice LBD with ankle boots, and an incredibly strange hairstyle. Does she not own a mirror?!

Actress Gina Gershon also attended, and while her outfit wasn't that bad it was a little underdressed for Fashion Rocks. Her black top with a ribbon was cute but maybe it would have been more appropriate if it was a dress.
The fabulous Kimora Lee was also there wearing a bin bag. I don't like this dress lol. Kimora rocks it anyway but she could have done a lot better in the style stakes.
The talented Alicia Keys showed up wearing a long black dress and strappy black sandals. Ok so this outfit isn't that bad but it's not that good either. The shoes like cheap and the length of the dress is just wrong. Her hair looks great though, very 70s!
Another singer at the event was Fergie who performed with Aerosmith and Ludacris. Whilst on the red carpet Fergie was sporting an unusual LBD. I like the skirt but the top half is just over the top and fussy. And why do her eyebrows look so weird? The shoes are cute though!
Ciara looked really beautiful yesterday in a floor length, pure white, gown. The style makes Ciara, who can sometimes look manly, seem really feminine and the silver details on the straps give her a bit of sparkle. I still think she could have done better though because there's nothing exciting about it.
Mary. J Blige made a style statement in this white trench coat worn as a dress a black berret and a pair of patent black courts. This look is very unusual but for some reason I kinda like it. What do you think?
Sophia Bush looked all sweet and smiley and wore a real cute little great dress to the event which she teamed with stylish black tights and patent black courts. I like this overall look but I'm not sure about the cut of the dress, could have been a little more flaterring.
Nicole Richie also showed up, baby bump and all, and combined the black and white theme of the evening into this zebra patterned chiffon gown. I'm not sure about the pattern but the style of the dress is really beautiful and Nicole looks great now she's gaining a bit of weight. Her bright gold accessories were bang on trend too.
The gorgeous Jessica Alba was on the red carpet looking sleek in her long black slinky dress and slicked back hair. I like the daringness of the chain detail down the dress but I don't really like the fit.For more pics of Jessica
Country star LeAnn Rimes knows that sometimes simplicity is best so she showed up looking lovely ina simple black pencil dress with a black waist belt and black courts. Simple but effective.
It was nice to see Mya show up since I don't hear a lot about her lately and I'm a big fan. She bucked the black and white trend and instead opted for a tulip skirted brown bandeau dress with a waist belt and brown sandals. The colour and shape of the dress suited her really well and her hair looked lovely.
Buffy star Michelle Trachtenberg turned up looking like an ice queen with her pale skin, dark hair and loose white and silver dress. She looked very stylish and accessorised with a really cute clutch.
Michelle's love rival, Ashlee Simpson (Ashley now dates Michelle's ex boyfriend, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz) opted for the complete opposite look of blonde tanned california girl in a fitted black mini dress. The fit of this dress is really hot and the neckline and sleeves make it look stylish instead of trashy.
Carmen Electra wore a really cute vintage looking cream lace dress with a black ribbon and black peep toes to match. She also added a splash of colour with some daring bright red lipstick but I think this outfit would have looked a million times better if she'd tied her hair back off her face, it's just too much down like that. For more pics of Carmen
Another country star at the event was ex American Idol-er Carrie Underwood who wore an absolutely beattiful little white dress. The cut is unusual but really flattering and her white clutch and gold sandals compliment the outfit pefectly. Her hair looks adorable in this side swept pony tail and her make-up is simple and elegant. All in all I think this look is great!
And finally to our top three. The bronze goes to the lovely Ashanti, who dazzled at the event in a goregous sparkly grey pencil skirt and a black vest tucked in. She accessorised with black peep toes with bows on the front, a black clutch and loads od stylish silver bangles. Her eye make-up was hot, her hair bouncy but my only complaint is that the black lining under the skirt should have been the length of the skirt because it looks a bit silly like that and keeps taking my attention from the rest of the outfit!
Silver goes to Mischa Barton who actually turned up in a sleek metallic silver floor length gown. She looks statuesque and elegant here with her hair pulled back and subtle green eye make-up. This outfit is definalty an attention grabber and Mischa's the perfect person to carry it off.
And my gold look of the night goes to........Jennifer Lopez! Am I biased? I'm trying not to be but I do think she looked the best there! She wore this beautiful black flapepr inspired dress witha plunging neckline and gold sparkle. She teamed the flattering dress with unusal black stilettos that had roses on the front, a funky black and diamond wrap around bracelet and gold dangly earrings. Her skin was glowing as usual, her gold eye make-up matched perfectly and I even like her burgandy nail polish. Everything about this outfit is great!
