OMG What Is She Wearing?! - Gwyneth Paltrow

Thursday, 10 April 2008

Proof that wearing designer does not mean you'll look good!

Gwyneth Paltrow looked disasterous at the 2008 Point Foundation Benefit at Capitale on Monday wearing a black and red printed vintage Yves Saint Lauren dress with Givenchy Spring 2008 gladiator shoes.

The shoes I like, but with skinny jeans because with a dress they just cut off Gwynnie's legs and make them look short.

The dress is horrendous. The big shoulders and puff sleeves are so unflattering, and the colour and print are just plain ugly.

Yuk!

OMG I Love Paris Fashion Week Spring 2008 Couture Givenchy

Friday, 1 February 2008

Top model Natalia Vodianova wasn't on the runway at the Givenchy Spring 2008 Couture Show at Paris Fashion Week last week but the beauty did show up to see the designer's new collection wearing a one shouldered LBD.

The edgy collection began with a range of curve enhancing coats in black, white and pastels, each with a fitted waist and flared bottom.

The individual pieces encorporated a lot of leather and sheer materials. Sheer blouses were teamed with skinny leather trousers and one of the stand out pieces was a long sleeveless leather jacket.

Skirts were flouncy yet structured and leggins made a return in gikd sequins.

Hair was straight, flat and centre parted - a huge trend right now.

There were certainly some crazy dresses in the collection which showed off the artistic and adventurous side of the designer...

Whilst some of the other dresses were more wearable but equally creative using feathers and metallics.

Footwear was inspired by ballet shoes with criss crosses wrapped around ankles and legs.

Of course the collection included classic LBDs, mostly with ruffled underksirts in a contrasting colour and all worn with tights in a variety of colours.

The collection even channeled a bit of Wonder Woman with the funky headwear!

There weren't many gowns in the collection but the ones we did see were white, feminine and dramatic.
