Monday, 28 January 2008
The 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards last night were anything but dull! In fact many stars walked the red carpet in bold, brightly coloured gowns.
One of my favourites was the sleek blue and white Calvin Klein gown worn by Jaime Lynn Sigler. The high waist and delicate halter neck gave a very sophisticated look.
Rebecca Gayheart chose a sultry red Marchesa gown. The strapless frilly chiffon bodice looked very dramatic against her bare shoulders and high ponytail.
Amanda Bynes wore a youthful strapless Marchesa Resort 2008 gown in a deep turquoise with silver embroidered neckline. Combined with her casual waves and braided hair she looked age apropriate and gorgeous.
Another of my favs was Emmanuelle Chriqui's stunning orange one shoulder Grecian style gown. The loose satin gown looked amazing against Emmanuelle's skin and the gold earrings were just the right accessory.
L-R: Kate Beckinsale, Marcia Cross, Vanessa Williams and Jane Krakowski
Kate Beckinsale took bright dresses to another level with a strapless yellow vintage-prom inspired Luisa Beccaria gown. I think the quirky dress suits Kate's style perfectly!
Marcia Cross' red locks looked amazing next to her strapless turquoise Monique Lhuillier gown with a subtle flower detail on the bust. I think her matching peach bracelets on both arms is a bit much though!
Also in yellow was Vanessa Williams who chose a strapless Escada gown with a black waist sash and revealing slit. The style showed just enough skin without being too much and looked great on her.
Finally we have comedienne Jane Krakowski in a green Malandrino "Bird" gown from the Spring 2008 Collection with a beaded halter neck. The beads are very bold and daring but with the soft shade of green I think she pulls it off.
What do you think??

Thursday, 13 December 2007
Hayden Panettiere was looking chic in her fitted cream Tina Turk halter top and black Escada pencil skirt to announce the 65th Golden Globe Nominations in L.A. earlier today, but the big question is - will the Writers Strike put an end to the big glam production??
Chances are that the WGA (Writers Guild of America), who have now been on strike for 40 days, will picket the Golden Globes. Of even bigger concern is the fact that SAG (Screen Actors Guild) members, including many Hollywood stars, are likely to boycott the event in support.
Grey's Anantomy star Katherine Heigl has already spoken out about the fact she won't be attending this year, despite being nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The actress said "I'm not crossing the picket line unless I'm contractually obliged to do so. And I'm not with the Golden Globes."
Hope it doesn't spoil the event! I was so looking forward do all the over-the-top dresses!

Wednesday, 12 December 2007
"I know I want to make the best films that are out there. And I am prepared to do what I can to achieve my best. I think you have to have a healthy amount of fear in order to be good at what you do. I keep a healthy dose of "Do you realise how lucky you are?""
- Mischa Barton tells Tatler's January 2008 issue about her work ethic and ambition.
