OMG What Is She Wearing?! - Screen Actors Guild Awards 2008 Edition

Tuesday, 29 January 2008

L-R: Phoebe Price, Lisa Rinna, Andrea Bowen and Angelina Jolie

Who was the worst dressed at last night's SAG Awards??

Phoebe Price wore an incredibly unflattering nude coloured dress with jewelry that looked as plastic as her face!

Speaking of plastic faces, Lisa Rinna and her trout pout were clearly desperate for attention in her plunging zebra print dress - pure class!

Poor 17 year old Andrea Bowen looked middle-aged in her deep blue strapless gown with her ageing quiffed back hair and Pat Butcher style earrings. Try dressing your age!

And finally an obviously pregnant Angelina Jolie used the oldest trick in the publicity book by wearing a tent dress just as the rumour of her pregnancy start up. This is the last thing you do if you want people to stop gossiping about you, and apart from that it's a hideous dress!

Who do you think was the worst dressed though? For me it has to be between Phoebe Price and Andrea Bowen! They both looked tragic!

OMG I Love The SAG Awards! - Cocktail Dresses

Monday, 28 January 2008

L-R: Rebecca Romijn, Sophia Bush, Ellen Page and Michelle Pfeiffer

Not all celebs opted for long glamorous gowns at the 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards last night. Many kept the glamour subtle in gorgeous cocktail dresses instead.

Rebecca Romijn looked very sexy in her strapless silver Roberto Cavalli dress with black lace overlay. The statuesque actress teamed the dress with pointed black courts and looked incredibly sultry.

One of my favourite stylish starlets Sophia Bush was at the event in a strapless shimmery brown knee-length dress with a waist belt. She accessorised with nude peep toe pumps and wore her hair in a sleek updo to show off her silver tear-drop earrings.

Newbie Ellen Page is stuck in a red carpet style rut. She looked nice in her simple black Zac Posen dress but this is the latest of many simple LBDs she has worn to events recently. Ellen, try colour or at least a differnt style!

And finally is Michelle Pfeiffer in a strapless fitted coffee coloured Versace gown which she matched with peep toes in the same colour and she wore her soft waves in a loose updo. Simple and classic.

OMG I Love The SAG Awards! - Floral Details

L-R: Teri Hatcher, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett and Kate Hudson

Feminine floral details were all over the red carpet at the 14th Annual SAG Awards in different variations.

Teri Hatcher was a bit of a turn up for the books looking gorgeous (for a change!) in a cream Badgley Mischka gown. The figure hugging strapless gown was one of the best of the night and was covered in a subtle floral print.

The Ugly Betty ladies were 3 for 3 in the great dresses department when America Ferrera showed up in this beautiful grey Monique Lhuillier. America's curves looked great in the fitted gown which has one shoulder and was covered in a a delicate floral lace.

Pregnant Cate Blanchett kept her bump covered in a loose fitting, strapless black Balenciaga gown which was covered in a multicoloured floral print. As she's pregnant I'll give her a pass but this isn't one of Cate's best red carpet looks. It's not bad but it could have had more shape. Just because you're pregnant, doesn't mean you have to wear a tent!

Finally in floral was the eternal hippy Kate Hudson who wore a pink floral Balmain Spring 2008 gown. The straples chiffon number was very much in Kate's earthy style and I love the beaded bandeau top.

OMG I Love The SAG Awards! - Ice White

L-R: Eva Longoria, Holly Hunter, Ashley Tisdale and Becki Newton

In contrast to the dark sexy gowns, many celebs chose to wear bright white gowns to the 14th Annual SAG Awards last night.

Eva Longoria was back in The States after her recent trip to the UK and on top red carpet form in her Naeem Khan Spring 2008 gown. The gorgeous white gown had a cowl neck front and a low cowl back as well as silver detailing all over. The short curly updo that she always wears is a little aging though. It's about time someone told her!

Veteran actress Holly Hunter wore a pure white chiffon gown with a grey tied waist belt. I think a more structured belt would have looked better and she needs to do something with her hair, but overall the outfit is cute.

Ashley Tisdale was posing to the max in a glowing white Badgley Mischka Couture gown. Her centre parted Farrah flicks were working for her too and I think the High School Musical starlet looked fantastic!

Finally in white we have Ugly Betty's Becki Newton in a shimmery white Elsie Katz Couture gown with layered skirt. The look was high fashion and classy and was one of my favs of the night.

OMG I Love The SAG Awards! - A Black and White Affair

L-R: Nicolette Sheridan, Brenda Strong, Ana Oritz and Marg Helgenberger

As always, classic black gowns were all over the red carpet at the 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Desperate Housewife Nicollette Sheridan opted for a simple strapless black Marchesa gown which she wore with minimal jewelry and make-up for subtle glamour.

Brenda Strong stood out in a black satin gown with silver detailing and a matching silver clutch. I do feel however that Brenda would have looked better if the neckline was cut a little lower because this style makes her shoulders look kinda broad.

My favourite black gown of all goes to Ugly Betty star Ana Oritz who looked wore a stunning strapless Pamela Dennis gown with ruffled skirt and white embroidery. The curve enhancing gown looked amazing with her heavy fringe and her hair pulled up, and accessorised with a glitzy silver clutch.

Also looking lovely in black was Marg Helgenberger of CSI fame who wore an on-trend one shoulder gown with cross over leather straps on the back. Very hot!

OMG I Love The SAG Awards! - Silver Gowns

L-R: Christina Applegate, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Pompeo and Brittany Snow

The 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held last night so we finally got to see all the big Hollywood stars come out in gorgeous designer gowns, after the Oscars were sadly cancelled earlier this month.

One of the biggest trends on the red carpet was sparkly silver gowns, which I loved!

Christina Applegate wore a light silver v-neck gown with layered skirt by Elie Saab with Neil Lane jewelry and bright red lips.

Beautiful French actress Marion Cotillard wore one of my absolute favourite dresses of the night, a strapless Nina Ricci gown with soft chiffon train with a delicate silver pendant by Chopard.

Ellen Pompeo chose a shiny silver strapless gown also by Nina Ricci from her Spring 2008 Collection which looked great with her hair in a sophisticated up do.

And Brittany Snow looked sexy in a silver sequined curve hugging gown and delicate drop earrings.
