The annual Seal Culling has just began in Canada. Seals are brutally murdered for use within the fashion industry. I may love fashion but I would never ever wear fur unless it was faux.

Above are photos of a heartless hunter about to attack and kill a defenseless seal as well as a picture of a baby seal scrambling through the ice in an attempt to escape. It probably didn't.

I'm sure many people out there can give me good reasons why killing seals is ok, but in this manner I don't believe it is ever ok. It is just a cruel and inhumane way of murdering animals. And whilst I do eat meat and understand humane killing for food and survival, killing for use of fur in fashion is ridiculous and unnecessary.

DISGUSTING.

Some of the big name, high fashion brands who purchase seal fur include Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana and Versace. Above are photos of their fur garments from their new Fall 2008 Collections. I'm not claiming that those particular garments are seal fur, but either way, some poor animal died to make them.

It seems so pointless since faux fur looks and feels so great these days.

Personally I think the fur looks better on the animals.

This makes me feel so sad.
